This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains the information collection, use, and sharing practices of YTMP3X ("we," "us," and "our") in connection with the YTMP3X – Video to MP3 Converter browser extension and the cloud conversion services provided through it (the "Services"). Before you use the Services, please review this Policy carefully. By using any part of the Services, you understand that your information will be collected, used, and disclosed as described here. Our Principles

YTMP3X is designed around the following core principles:

• Human-Readable Privacy: Privacy policies should be human-readable, straightforward, and easy to find.
• Data Minimization: We collect as little data as possible to operate and maintain the Service.
• No Account Required: We do not require you to create an account, and we do not require your name, email address, or any personal profile to use the core conversion feature.

What the Extension Does

YTMP3X lets you convert audio from a supported online video page into an audio file (MP3, M4A, Opus, or WAV). You open a supported page and choose to convert it. The extension sends the link (URL) of that page to our cloud API at api.youtubetomp3x.com; our servers retrieve the audio, convert it to the format you selected, and return the file for you to download.

You do not upload video files to us — we only receive the link you choose to convert. Optional features may include trimming a section of the audio, embedding available cover art/title tags when the source provides them, and enforcing a daily free-use limit per installation. Secure verification (bot protection) may be shown before a conversion starts.

Information We Collect

We collect the limited information needed to provide the Service, prevent abuse, and keep free-use limits fair.

1. Anonymous Installation ID

The first time you use the extension, it generates a random identifier on your device and stores it locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local). This ID is sent with each request to our servers. It is not linked to your name or identity. We use it to apply fair-use / daily download limits, prevent abuse, and recognize usage for that installation.

2. The Page Link You Submit

When you start a preview or conversion, we receive the URL of the page you chose to process. We only receive a link when you actively open the extension on that page and start a conversion flow — never from pages where you do not.

3. Technical and Usage Information

Automatically collected by our servers:

• Network Data: IP address and approximate location (country/city) derived from it.
• System Specs: Browser type, browser language, and operating system.
• Conversion Details: Timestamp, output format/quality, trim settings (if used), file size, and success or error results.
• Usage Counts: Per-installation usage counts (e.g., number of downloads and remaining daily quota).
• System Logs: Web server logs (request timestamps, HTTP methods, response codes).
• Security Signals: Verification / anti-abuse signals needed to complete a conversion request.

4. Local Preferences

Your settings (such as interface language and selected format/quality) and the installation ID are stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage. If you have browser sync enabled, your browser may sync this data across your devices under your browser account.

5. Support Messages

If you open Help / Support and submit a message through our support form on youtubetomp3x.com, we receive the details you choose to provide (such as your message text and any contact email you enter).

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your browsing history or the content of pages where you do not start a conversion.
• We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or web beacons in the extension.
• We do not collect your name, phone number, mailing address, or social media profiles for the core conversion feature.
• We do not run newsletters or marketing email campaigns through the extension.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.

Cookies and Logging

The extension itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our servers keep standard web server logs for security, reliability, and abuse prevention. The hosted verification page used for bot protection may set functional / security cookies required to complete the challenge; that process is only used when you start a conversion.

File Handling, Storage, and Deletion

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Core Functionality: Fulfill conversion requests and deliver the converted audio file.
• Quota Management: Enforce free-tier / daily limits and keep the Service reliable.
• Service Maintenance: Operate, secure, and improve performance, reliability, and supported formats.

• Security & Anti-Abuse: Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security issues, and technical problems.
• Internal Analytics: Conduct analytics on aggregate or de-identified usage to understand demand.

We may aggregate and/or de-identify information collected through the Services and use such data for any purpose.

When We Disclose Your Information

We share information only as needed to operate the Service.

Service Providers

1. Infrastructure Providers: Third-party cloud server, hosting, and CDN providers receive the submitted link, IP address, installation ID, technical request data, and temporary converted audio file solely to host, convert, deliver, apply rate limits, and prevent abuse.
2. Bot-Protection Providers: Security/verification services used on our verification page receive technical browser and connection signals to confirm human verification challenges.

What We Never Share

• We do NOT share data with advertisers, ad networks, or ad exchanges for targeting.
• We do NOT share data with data brokers or entities that buy, sell, or resell personal data.
• We do NOT include third-party analytics, tracking, or behavioral-profiling SDKs inside the extension.

Legal Compliance and Protection of Rights

We may disclose information in good faith if necessary to: (a) comply with legal process (subpoenas, court orders, regulatory requests); (b) enforce our Terms of Use and this Policy; (c) respond to support requests; (d) protect the rights, property, or safety of YTMP3X, users, and the public; or (e) address fraud, security, or technical issues.

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. Any acquiring party will be required to honor the commitments in this Policy.

Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK)

Your Choices and Data Subject Rights

Because the core Service does not use accounts, the primary control you have is your installation ID, along with the rights below:

• Deletion and Access Requests: Email [email protected] to request access to, correction of, or deletion of data linked to your installation ID. You can stop all data collection immediately by uninstalling the extension or clearing local browser extension storage.
• EEA/UK Rights (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to data processing, exercise data portability, withdraw consent, or lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Responses are provided within 30 days.
• California Rights (CCPA/CPRA): California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected/shared, request deletion, opt out of data sale/sharing (we do not sell or share data for cross-context behavioral advertising), and remain free from discrimination for exercising rights. Responses are provided within 45 days.

International Transfers & Security

• International Transfers: Our servers and service providers may be located in countries outside your residence. Where international transfers occur (including outside the EEA/UK), appropriate safeguards are implemented in compliance with applicable laws.
• Security Measures: We implement technical and organizational controls including TLS/HTTPS encryption in transit, strict system access controls/authentication, security logging, and automatic file deletion. While we take commercially reasonable measures, no transmission method is 100% secure.

Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Data Retention

• Converted Files: Deleted automatically shortly after download (typically within minutes, maximum 1 hour).
• Installation ID & Usage Records: Retained as necessary to operate the Service, enforce limits, and prevent abuse, after which data is deleted or anonymized.
• Web Server Logs: Retained for approximately 90 days for security troubleshooting.

Copyrighted Content

The Services allow users to convert online video content into audio files. By using the Services, you represent that you have the right to convert any content you submit and that doing so does not infringe upon third-party rights or platform terms. YTMP3X does not monitor or verify the legality of converted content; users bear sole responsibility for their usage.

DMCA / Copyright Takedown Notices

If you believe content converted through the Service infringes your copyright, submit a notice to [email protected] containing:

1. Your contact information (name, address, telephone, email).
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
3. Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information to locate it.
4. A statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized.
5. A statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act.
6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Third-Party Links & Changes to Policy

• Third-Party Links: The Services may link to third-party platforms. Their privacy policies govern interactions on those sites; we are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
• Policy Changes: We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via prominent notice as required by law, and the "Last Updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the Services following updates constitutes acceptance.
